Visit the community garden
The community garden is located at the end of Silver Street, just off of Main Street. The land was donated by the city, and it has been open for about six years.
The garden features an assortment of plants that you might expect to see in a garden: flowers, herbs and vegetables. But there are also some unique items like lavender and roses that can be purchased at local shops like The Green Door Store & Garden Center (a must-visit if you’re in Salem).

The Old Town Hall, which was built in 1827 and still serves as a meeting place for local government today, is one example of Federal architecture. Meanwhile, several homes around town were built during the Victorian era–one such home is known as “Mansion House” and can be seen at 11 Walnut Street (pictured above).
